Exciting Season for PWP Drama Camp

Now that Spring Break and Easter and Passover are over, we find ourselves looking ahead to summer and planning our summer activities in Munds Park. Central to summer in Munds Park, both timing-wise and in importance, is Drama Camp, which runs from July 2nd to July 22nd. We have a very exciting season planned for Drama Camp this year!
Kidz Kamp will be doing Golly Gee Whiz!, a new play from Pioneer Drama Service that won the National Youth Theatre Award for Outstanding New Musical. It’s a tribute to the Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland movie musicals of the 1930s and 40s where the younger generation tries to lift the spirits of their elders during the Depression by putting on a show. Lively music and lots of great parts will keep your young thespians (ages 7 to 11) excited and engaged.
For Teen Camp (ages 12 to 18), we’re kicking it up a notch; we’ll be doing Fiddler on the Roof Jr. This is a condensed version of the Broadway Classic and has been staged by youth drama groups all over the country. I guarantee you’ll leave the theater humming Tradition and If I Were a Rich Man. This show has lots of great music, but there are also some great dance numbers. We’ll need dancers, as well as singers. So, get your teen signed up for the experience of a lifetime.
Let me finish by reminding you that Drama Camp is open to the children and grandchildren of all the families in the Munds Park community. Registration and Liability Release forms can be downloaded, along with the PWP Membership form (all families must be members of the Pinewood Players), from the PWP website, pinewoodplayers.com. Or, you can contact me and I’ll mail you a registration packet. Don’t let your child/grandchild miss out on a great season. Sign them up now.
