Scholarship Recipients
Each year Pinewood Players supports the community by offering up to two $2000 scholarship awards to deserving students who have strong connections to Munds Park.

2023
Margaret "Maggie" Wuycheck
Maggie graduated from Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix with a 4.285 weighted GPA and won First Honors and Second Honors awards in all four years at Xavier. Other honors included include National Honor Society, National Engineering Honor Society, National History Scholars and Computer Science Honor Society. She was also on the Student Council for 3 years at Xavier.
Maggie plans to attend Arizona State University in the fall and will major in Business Communications. She intends to pursue a career in Human Resources.
Kieran Briggs
Kieran graduated from the Gateway Academy in Scottsdale, Arizona with a 4.0 GPA in his senior year, was an Honor Roll student and a member of the National Honor Society.
Kieran will attend Northern Arizona University this fall majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in photography. He intends to pursue a career in the Criminal Justice field and desires to combine criminology with photography for a career in forensic photography.
2022
Curtis “CJ” Hansen
The Pinewood Players Board of Directors met on June 20th and confirmed that the 2022 Pinewood Players Scholarship in the amount of $2000 will be awarded to Curtis “CJ” Hansen. Curtis’s sister Maggie won a Pinewood Players Scholarship Award in 2019.

CJ is a recent graduate of Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, AZ where he earned a 3.7 unweighted, 4.2 weighted GPA. He was a member of the National Honor Society and a nominee for the Pinnacle’s Finest Award. He competed on the varsity cross-country and wresting teams at Pinnacle, was a leader in the NSUMC Youth Group and volunteered with 1 Mission. He also worked summer jobs at the Pinewood Country Club in the Activities Center and as a server.

CJ has been involved in various theatrical endeavors including Pinnacle’s Finest Contest and NSUMC’s The Music Man and Christmas Play productions. He also attended four Pinewood Players Youth Drama Camps appearing in Wipeout, Zombie Nights, Totally Awesome 80’s and Fiddler on the Roof. He told us that he has had a “love/hate” relationship with being on the stage, which he calls both “thrilling and terrifying,” but credits his stage experiences with teaching him courage and improving his public speaking ability.
Curtis plans to attend Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA to study Computer Science and Business.

Pinewood Players, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization bringing cultural opportunities to all ages. Each summer the Pinewood Players entertain the community by presenting live theatre. Pinewood Players provides various venues where children and adults learn about the performing arts through participation in workshops, drama camps and plays of all kinds. Pinewood Players is open to the public and serves the entire community of Munds Park.
2021
Camryn Consolian
Camryn is a recent graduate of Horizon High School where she compiled a 3.795 unweighted GPA. She was in student government, a National Honor Society member and recipient of the Merit Scholarship and Principals Award. She participated in Show Choir, acting and dance classes and in musical theater. Camryn also participated in 5 seasons of Pinewood Players Drama Camps and additionally served as a Junior Counselor and Choreographer. She plans to attend the University of Arizona majoring in Psychology.
Elliot Hull
Elliot graduated from Thunderbird High School with the Highest Distinction in the top 1% of his class with an unweighted GPA of 4.0. He was on the Dean’s list throughout his entire high school career and was honored as Thunderbird Scholar of the Year. Elliot and his family are well known to Pinewood Players having been involved in the organization for years. His mother, father, brother and two sisters have all performed on the Pinewood Playhouse stage. Elliot attended 8 Drama Camps. He acted, operated lights, worked on sets, and was also a Junior Counselor. He is an Eagle Scout, plays trumpet and mellophone and was in the Thunderbird HS Band. Elliot plans to attend Northern Arizona University majoring in Computer Science.
Pinewood Players congratulates this year’s recipients. Once again, we are amazed by the accomplishments and talents of these incredible young people. We wish them the best in their pursuit of higher education and are proud to be able to provide support for their educational endeavors.
