We have many opportunities to volunteer….from performing on stage, serving on committees, to being involved in all aspects of producing a play.
Every production requires the skills, talents and efforts of many people. We learn from and teach each other, with the goal of providing the best possible theater experience, both for our volunteers and patrons. We also have lots of good times, too!
SERVE ON COMMITTEES
___Box Office…Assist in selling tickets to our productions.
___General Construction…Assist with making repairs and improvements to the playhouse
___Painting/Electrical…Paint the interior of the playhouse and make electrical improvements and repairs
___Play Selection…Read potential scripts and recommend plays to be performed each season.
___Publicity…Prepare and distribute flyers, articles for newspapers and other media and find advertising support from sponsors.
___Scholarship…Work with Scholarship Chair to promote the Scholarship Program, raise funds, solicit applications and select awardees.
___Social Activities/Parties…Plan luncheons for our two general membership meetings and our Wrap party at the end of the season
___Theater Housekeeping…Assist with general upkeep, vacuuming, cleaning the theater and organizing storage facilities
___Youth Drama Camps….Assist with supervising children involved in our three summer Drama Camps.
PARTICIPATE IN PRODUCTIONS
___Accompanist…Play keyboard or other musical instruments
___Actor/Actress…Experience the joy of performing on stage in one of our three adult plays each season. Be someone
else for awhile to the delight of your friends and family. Come and audition!
___Cast Party…Plan the party that follows each production
___Concessions…Sell food and drinks during play intermissions.
___Costumes/Seamstress…Make costumes or alter existing costumes for our actors/actresses.
___Hair/Make-up…Style hair and apply make-up on actors/actresses.
___Lights…Develop a lighting cue list and run house, stage and spot lights during the play.
___Props…Gather the props needed for the play. Organize the props during the shows to ensure they are in the right place at the right time.
___Set Construction…Assist in building sets for shows.
___Set Dressing…Help find and arrange furniture and accessories for a set.
___Set Painting…Apply paint to walls and other items used on stage.
___Sound…Develop a cue list as to when sounds need to happen in the play. Control stage and personal microphones during the shows.
___Stage Manager…Responsible for everything that happens back stage during the run of the play. Supervises stage assistants.
___Stage Manager Assistants…Change scenes, get actors in place to ensure timely entrance on stage, help with costume changes, etc.
___ Usher…Help seat people before the play begins.
___Video/Editing…Videotape a performance of our shows and copy to a DVD
___Miscellaneous….Help in any of the above areas as the need arises.
