Premier in the Pines

Pinewood Players Presents

Pinewood Players Rolls out the Red Carpet

Through all of the disappointments of this Covid-19 restricted season our loyal members and patrons have continued to show their support for the organization and voice their approval of the decisions to put their health and safety first.

It is now time for Pinewood Players to repay your loyalty and support with a fun end of season “Red Carpet” event we have chosen to call “Premier in the Pines.”  The event will kick off the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Pinewood Players Drama Camp which will be celebrated next season along with the 30th Anniversary of Pinewood Players as an organization. For 20 years our Drama Camps have provided cultural opportunities for children 7 through 18 years of age to learn about live theater, have fun, meet friends and perform in a real professional theater environment.

“Premier in the Pines” is an event designed to introduce families to our new Drama Camp program and our theater. It will be an opportunity to learn more about Drama Camp 2021 and meet our new Drama Camp Administrator, Nancy Cummings, Assistant Administrator, Lu Cross and the members of the 2021 Drama Camp Steering Committee. Nancy came up with the idea for the event when she realized what a phenomenal asset the Pinewood Playhouse is for our young drama camp enthusiasts. Having the opportunity to act on stage in a real theater is a magical experience for some of the younger campers and a dream come true for some of the older ones.  Pinewood Players is pleased to be able to offer this unique experience and venue to the young people of our community.

We encourage families who are new to the community as well as current member families and our previous camp participants to come and join in the fun. Bring the kids and participate in the theater tours to experience our theater and its amenities first hand. Our guests will be able to feel the theater ambiance by standing in a mini-set on the stage, touring the make-up and dressing rooms where the costuming magic takes place, and seeing the state of the art sound and lighting systems demonstrated as they tour the control booth. They will be entertained by video clips of Pinewood Players Drama Camp performances from previous years.  Refreshments will be served on the patio and “Star Photos” will be available for our potential 2021 campers.  You can learn more about our Scholarship Program for students who have attended our camps and you may also pre-register your child or grandchild for our Drama Camp 2021 to insure a spot for them in next year’s special camp and production.

So consider this your invitation to join us for an experience that will be both fun and educational. Bring your future “stars of the stage” and introduce them to this outstanding community asset and resource. Anyone who has not had the opportunity to see our theater is also welcome to attend the open house. This event is open to everyone in the community and is sponsored free of charge by Pinewood Players.
